Met de vast-mobiel functionaliteit worden mobiele telefoons op het Kwebbl platform hetzelfde als vaste telefoons behandeld. Na provisionering van een mobiele telefoon (GSM) zal de SIM kaart zich net als een IP Telefoon (vaste telefonie) registreren op het platform en is het mogelijk om alle specifieke PBX functionaliteiten binnen Kwebbl te gebruiken. Daarmee vormt de mobiele telefoon direct een volledig geïntegreerd onderdeel van de telefooncentrale van het bedrijf.

Waar bij vaste telefonie de klant een grote keuze heeft tussen bijvoorbeeld SIP Telefoons en Internetproviders is er bij vast-mobiel oplossingen weinig tot geen keus voor mobiele operatoren. Met het aanbrengen van de flexibiliteit voor mobiele operatoren om eenvoudig te connecteren neemt Kwebbl een unieke positie in: (eind)klanten hebben vrijheid kunnen kiezen tussen verschillende mobiele aanbieders en netwerken.

With the fixed-mobile convergence functionality mobile phones on the Kwebbl platform are treated in the same way as fixed phones. After provisioning a mobile phone the SIM card will behave just like an IP telephone and will allow the user to use all PBX functionality of the Kwebbl Platform. In this way the mobile phone will act as a fully integrated part of the company’s PBX.

Where in fixed telephony the customer has a wide choice between, for example, fixed phones and Internet providers most Fixed-Mobile solutions offer little choice over which mobile operator to use. By providing the flexibility for mobile operators to easily connect to the platform Kwebbl is taking a unique position: (end)customers should have the freedom to choose from multiple mobile providers and networks.

I am proud of the fact that our young company has managed to merge the techniques of fixed and mobile telephony. In this Kwebbl Autumn Update we would like to share with you the latest developments and releases of Kwebbl.

Despite the hectic situation in the eastern regions of Ukraine the Kwebbl team in Kiev has developed some fantastic new features. In this update you’ll find a brief description of our releases in the last few weeks. Many other exciting features are on our roadmap and we are working hard to get these new features to you as soon as possible. We can hardly wait to share all these features with you.

The Destination Whitelist

Kwebbl’s highest priority is providing a highly stable and secure telephony environment for its customers. For that reason Kwebbl introduces the Destination Whitelist. With this new security feature providers get the possibility to allow and block outgoing calls to world regions or more specific countries within these regions. For each country the provider can select specific destination types that he wishes to allow or block, like calls to mobile, fixed, satellite and freephone destinations. Multiple customers can share the same Destination Whitelist, and the provider is able to create multiple Destination Whitelists to suit the needs of specific groups of companies. Exceptions to these Destination Whitelists can easily be made for one specific customer, so there is no need to create a new whitelist for each slightly different customer. For the security of all its customers Kwebbl created a default Destination Whitelist that excludes the countries with most risks for fraud.

Allow or Block Prefixes and Numbers

Included in the Destination Whitelist is also the ability to allow or block specific prefixes or specific numbers. It is for instance possible to block prefixes like +31900 (premium rate numbers) or +3120 (region Amsterdam). With this feature you can also make exceptions to the country whitelist, for instance if you blocked access to Germany but still need to call 1 specific number in this country.

Trunking

Kwebbl’s platform offers a highly stable and secure trunking functionality. As a result of the GEO redundant setup and the distributed database, Kwebbl offers inbound trunking facilities using a redundant setup in multiple datacenters. Each trunk consists of two SIP accounts, which allows seamless failover for both inbound and outbound calls. Because of this dual account set up the enduser is in charge of this failover, he can for instance configure the accounts in 2 separate PBXes to allow inbound failover if one of them fails. The trunking feature integrates with all Kwebbl’s security systems, including the fraud detection, call limits and destination whitelists.

Kwebbl aims to support as many (virtual) PBX devices and software platforms as possible, like Digium Asterisk, Elastix, Patton, 4PSA Voipnow, 3CX and 2600HZ Kazoo.

Personal Dial Plan

For some time now every Kwebbl user has been abe to manage his own personal Dial Plan from the user panel. With easy drag and drop the user can take control of how calls to his own number are handled, he can for instance make a transfer to his mobile phone and turn on the voicemail if he doesn’t pick up. In the near future we aim to add huntgroups, which are already available in Company Dial Plans, as a new feature for Personal Dial Plans.
